War at the Shore Champs!

The 14U Bobcats Red stormed through the championship bracket to win the 2014 War at the Shore tournament in East Lyme, Conn., over Memorial Day weekend. In the semifinals, Cody Morissette pitched a two-hit shutout and homered in the seventh inning to defeat the No. 1-seeded Connecticut Blue Devils, 2-0. The Bobcats won the championship behind the pitching of Eric Reardon, who tossed a three-hitter to beat the Clifton Park (N.Y.) Legends, 8-0. Sam Rollick broke a scoreless battle with a homer, and Ryan Tessier added a two-out, two-run double to open the floodgates. Ben Malgeri had 11 hits in the five-game weekend, including six doubles. Rollick also earned a win during the tourney, and Bobby Cliche notched the save in a quarterfinal 8-7 win against Connecticut Mission. The Bobcats (16-3) emerged from a field of 18 teams to win the Shore!

2014 Fall League champions!

Cody Morissette pitched a one-hitter in the semifinals for a 2-1 victory, and Bobcats Navy rallied for a 7-5 triumph against Cannons Royal in the 2014 Fall League High School Division championship on Sunday. Morissette had three hits in the final, while Brody Dupuis doubled and singled to drive in three runs. Leadoff hitter Mike Montembeault reached base four times. Right-hander Isaac Blake pitched into the fourth inning, and lefty Ryan Tessier notched his first career Bobcats victory in relief. Click here for a video playlist of the championship game.

Coach KG joins USA Baseball Development Camp

The USA Baseball 12U national team is hosting an open development camp at Franklin Pierce University's Pappas Field in Rindge on June 2 at 4 p.m. Bobcats co-founder and coach Kevin Gray, an associate scout with the Seattle Mariners, will be joining the staff of the development camp as USA Baseball seeks to identify the top 12U players in the Northeast. The development program features a series of camps across the country for players born on or after January 1, 2002. The program includes a two-tiered identification process, culminating in the selection of players to participate in the 12u National Team Trials and 12U National Open tournament.
