11u Bobcats bring home title!

Dylan Schuff ripped a bases-loaded single in the first inning, and then proceeded to shut down Academy National, leading the Bobcats to a 6-1 victory in the 11u New England EBL Pool Play championship. The tournament consisted of 10 teams from Division I, Division IA and Division II. Schuff went the distance, allowing only three hits, with nine strikeouts. The defense kept Academy off the scoreboard until the sixth inning. Tim Alley turned an unassisted double play, and Tyler Beleski and Aiden Hanning combined on a double play. Sam Dicicco had two hits and two RBIs. Congrats, team!

In the 12u Division I championship, Sean Wynkoop's three-run homer tied the game at 4-apiece in the sixth inning, but Noreasters Blue plated the winning run in the seventh inning. Starting pitcher Nicholas Ritchie pitched brilliantly, only giving up a pair of two-run homers. Josh Morissette homered in the third inning. Wynkoop and Morissette finished the season with a franchise-record 12 homers apiece. The Bobcats (21-5) took the runnerup trophy following a tremendous season.

12u Bobcats reach Division I championship

Alex Noel and Nicholas Ritchie pitched the 12u Bobcats into the New England Elite Baseball League Division I championship with pressure-packed playoff performances on Sunday. Noel's complete-game effort beat the Shoemakers, 3-0, and Ritchie followed with a brilliant performance to beat the Legends Prospects, 4-2, as the Bobcats captured the EBL American League title. The 2015 championship features the Bobcats (21-4) against the Noreasters Blue (28-0-1) on Saturday at Tufts University in Medford, Mass. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

10u 'Cats sweep Academy with 9-inning thriller

Logan Gordon ripped a double to score Cameron Evans with the go-ahead run, and the Bobcats held off Academy National for 7-6 victory in nine innings at Youngsville on Saturday. In one of many highlights, catcher Colby Smith made a game-saving diving tag at home plate in the eighth inning. Adam Wetherbee and Gordon combined for three innings of scoreless relief to complete the sweep. Calen Smith's RBI-single helped fuel the 'Cats in the second game.In the opener, Nate Steigmeyer drove in two runs with a two-out single, powering the Bobcats to a 3-1 triumph. Ethan Gray had two hits and scored the game's first run and pitched two innings of relief, and Evans notched the save. Ryan McSweeney and Evan Provost each belted gap-doubles, and Ethan Chow and Nick Steigmeyer added multiple hits. The Bobcats wore custom jerseys in a preview of the organization's new-look for 2016.
