2016 Timeline: What a Year!

We are so proud of the accomplishments in 2016! Thank you so much for your support and helping create something so special!

Jan. 1 -- The Bobcats take over as co-owners at Ultimate Sports Academy and begin to manage operations.

Feb. 7 -- Two nights after a heated debate, Presidential candidate Marco Rubio rents out USA on Super Bowl Sunday. Regional and national reporters cover the event.

Feb. 13 -- The Bobcats 11u team opened the season with a no-hitter at Dodgertown in Vero Beach. Matthew Lamy, Ethan Gray and Logan Gordon combined on the hill, and the defense made all the plays against Old School Baseball of Michigan.

April 17 -- The 12u squad coached by Jeff Beleski and Ryan Schuff trails by 10 runs before rallying to defeat Keene Jr. Swamp Bats, 27-16, to capture their fourth straight win. Tyler Beleski, Jake Cooper, Sam Dicicco and Dylan Schuff all homered.

April 30 -- 13u: Nick Kiah cruised to a no-hitter in a Mercy Rule victory against Hit Doctors, walking one and striking out one.

April 30 -- Calen Smith steals home with two outs in the sixth inning, lifting the 11u Bobcats to 13-12 win against the Saugus Wings. Smith would steal home three times on the season.

May 1 -- 13u: Both Bobcats 13u teams advance to the semifinals of the Spinners Springshot Tournament at LeLacheur Park in Lowell. Bobcats KG eventually wins the tourney, defeating Spinners Prospects and four other teams along the way.

May 8 -- 11u righty Michael Thresher notches a complete-game against the Plympton Crush on Mother's Day. The Bobcats beat the Crush, 9-2, behind Thresher's two-hitter.

May 30 -- Memorial Day Tournament 13u champions! Bobcats defeat the Black Flies, 7-6, after an epic battle in 10 innings.

June 4 -- Marcus Soucia tosses a no-hitter against the Plympton Crush, notching eight strikeouts and one walk.

June 11 -- 11u Division II EBL championship: Bobcats defeat Rivals, erupting with a 10-run inning and grand slam by Cameron Olivo. Matthew Lamy and Nathan Innerfield combine on the mound to clinch the first-ever Bobcats EBL championship.

June 12 -- Bobcats Prospects open the season with a 17u tournament championship at Connecticut SportsPlex. Matt Chandler homers in pool play, and Cody Morissette pitches the Bobcats to a championship win against Stamford, Conn.

June 12 -- 15u: Evan Schwartz tosses a complete-game to defeat the Vikings, 3-1, at Manchester Memorial H.S. The crafty righty strikes out seven without allowing an earned run.

June 18 -- 14u: Nick Von Breeden blasts a three-run homer and collects eight RBIs as the Bobcats crush the NH Grizzlies. The 14u squad finished the season with a 25-12 record after competing in four elite tournaments.

June 18 -- Bobcats Prospects: Alec Boucher and Brody Dupuis hit back-to-back homers against Academy National in the Cannons Invitational at Drake Field in Pittsfield.

July 17 -- 13u Division IA EBL championship: Bobcats defeat Nor'Easters, 8-5, at Tufts University to claim the program's second EBL title. This marks the seventh EBL championship game in four seasons.

July 10-15 -- Playing in the 12u Blue Crab Tournament at Aberdeen, Md., Bobcats Michaud, went undefeated in five pool play games, Bobcats Michaud placed fourth among 17 teams from the U.S. and Canada. Justin Russell, batting with two outs and two strikes, placed a bunt single for walk-off win to score Matt Lamy and defeat New Jersey ... Earlier in the week, Tim Alley won the Home Run Derby, putting on a display with impressive homers at the Cal Ripken Senior Field.

July 22-24 -- The Bobcats hosted teams from Dominican Republic and Panama in the inaugural Copa de Beisbol tournament. The whirlwind weekend includes trips to Fisher Cats, Red Sox and a 12u championship for the Bobcats. Championship Sunday included a special visit from 2005 Cy Young Award winner Chris Carpenter.

Sept. 4 -- J.J. Crespo wins the Home Run Derby at the Labor Day Slugfest in Nashua. The 12-year-old standout finishes the calendar year with eight homers in Bobcats games.

Dec. 27-30 -- Cameron Olivo, Luke Ramsey and Marcus Soucia compete in the All-America Games and World Power Showcase at Marlins Park in Miami. Soucia puts on an amazing display of power in the 14u Homer Run Derby, homering in four consecutive swings and finishing with eight homers.

And more:  Exeter High sophomore Cody Morissette, who was targeted by 14 different colleges, makes a verbal commitment to play scholarship baseball for Boston College ... Another Bobcats Original, Joseph Quintal, commits to Fordham ... Three-year Bobcats catcher Dakota Mulcay opts to play at SNHU after being recruited by several top Div. II programs ... Dylan Bogacz commits to Keene State; Tyler Coppo commits to Hartford ... Bobcats and USA sign a partnership with New Hampshire Orthopaedics, ConvenientMD and Cross Insurance.
